After 4 years of hiatus, I decided to come back to focus on this as I wanted to share the knowledge and the passion towards whisky and Wines this time round.
Why Whisky?
I started to join this industry back in 2018, I gain quite a number of knowledge with whiskies. Which also made me having a great interest over it and I wanted to pursue further. But the trade was so small that I don't even have the chance to share and expand my knowledge. So I shall continue with this blog and share it here. I left on 2019 to expand my alcohol knowledge like wines also the tobacco industry whereby I could explore cigars and pipe tobacco.
How about wines?
Wines seemed to be more popular than whiskies, there are many companies around there selling almost the same products making the market very competitive. I eventually went to work with one of them, the colleagues there are super nice, until then we are still in contact! The reason why I left is because of the 6 day work week and my body couldn't take it which causes me having some health issues and also made me completely almost no life and wanted to start this project but I keep on procrastinating myself until now. But till now it seemed that I couldn't get a position in this industry anymore even though I went to take some certification to certify that I have the knowledge of wines.
Some of them just couldn't understand my passion over alcohol, especially whisky, wines and sake. If not I wont have apply the job in the retail side. Guess this is the reality. People will never see through the passion of yours.
But however, Singapore is a very small country and the circle itself is also very small. I am just a girl next door who wants to pursue her passion, I also wanted to integrate my parents business along with my passion. They are all men's favorite hobby anyways.
Then Tobacco and Cigars?
I actually have almost zero interest in it, because I am not a smoker myself. Due to some experiences in the tobacco industry I eventually joined a small shop owned by a British man. He was a very nice boss unlike Asian bosses I worked with. I left the industry is because it was an industry that the our government is restricting. The rules again is getting stricter every year. This is also a place that I cannot outshine my future.
As we know that whiskies are always good with cigars! But it have to depend which cigar to pair with. While wines was the worst with cigars. We still can pair with cigars, only with limited selections.
Another fact that due to the strict rules in the country, I will not promote any tobacco related products or even cigars (sad fact but I really cannot promote).
So eventually I will market this blog of mine, I will also update it twice a week hopefully.
